NFT's are everywhere. You hear them on the news: "A picture of a monkey was just bought for $100,000!" You think, "no way someone would buy a picture on the internet for that much money."
Though NFTs have been around since 2014, in 2021 they blew up in popularity and some have sold for over millions on dollars.
What makes these "images" so attractive? Why can't we just copy+paste and own the image ourselves without purchasing it?
